Personalize Your Directory Information

Sharing your public eXtension profile is one good way to add to more information on your County Staff page and Extension Directory listing. The Extension Staff Database provides a few more ways to personalize your information.

1. Add a photo

Take a look at your county staff page. Does most everyone have a photo? Staff pages with lots of employee photos create a friendly impression for the public. Take a look at Ashe, Randolph, and Scotland counties' pages to see just a few examples.

2. Add an optional job description

Your title alone doesn't provide a lot of information about what you do. You can add a text description with more detail about the roles you hold and programs you conduct. Visit Robeson County's staff page to see a good example.

3. Add your url

If you maintain your own professional web page, blog or other social media page, you should link to it to help the public find you.

All of these options are available to you, simply by updating your information in the Extension Staff database. To update your information, go to http://newton.ces.ncsu.edu/xemp/ or use the links provided from the One-Stop Shop portal.

4. Proofread your entry

After you've made these changes, be sure to look at your county page and/or directory listing or ask a coworker to do this for you. Look for spelling and grammatical errors and make sure the link works.

Consider taking these simple steps to give the public and your coworkers a more personalized view of who you are and what you do.
