NCSU Spam Filter

I am still finding false positives (good messages that have been identified as spam) in my quarantine summary.  Not many, but enough to make me want to look through the quarantine summary every day.  When you identify a good message in your quarantine, you will probably want to add that sender to your list of approved senders.

From the quarantine summary message, there are four columns - "From", "Subject" and "Date" and "Deliver".

  • Clicking on the senders address in the "From" column will compose a message to that address.
  • Clicking on the subject of the message opens a page with the contents of the message and the option to "Deliver to Inbox" or "Move to Trash"
If you click "Deliver to Inbox" you are presented with the option to "Approve Selected Senders" (be sure to click the checkbox in the "Approve Sender" column)
  • Clicking on "Deliver" just delivers the message.
In most cases, you are going to want to click on the subject of the message and approve this sender so future messages from this individual will be delivered.

If you have any questions or need help, contact your regional Information Management Agent.
