Spammers like this write scripts that will change the sender and often many parts of the email message to make it harder for the spam filters to identify the message as spam.

They are harvesting emails from everywhere on the web. If your email address has ever been posted to the web, chances are you're on some spam list.

Thank you for the details. I was suspicious, too. I wonder if they are harvesting e-mails from university directories as I am affiliated with a school. Looks like they have variations as I received the invitation from an Elizabeth.
